So last week I began my internship here at ICMS. I was in the functions department. It was not the most enjoyable experience initially. I had no clue how to use the computer booking system, I was unfamiliar with the correct way to complete my tasks, and I had the most difficult time understanding the Australian accent over the phone! Needless to say, my first day was not outstanding. However, by the end of the week, I was a little sad to leave. I had grew to love the functions department, and could finally work the computer system without fail, AND understand the Australian accent over the phone without having to ask the person on the other line “What?” a hundred times.
As sad as I was to complete my week in functions, I was ecstatic for the weekend! Word to the wise…no matter where you come to Manly from, no matter how tan you are or how much you think, “well, I don’t burn at home, so I won’t burn here,”…. Wear sun screen!! My friend Michelle and I are still suffering the side effects of a full day at the beach last Saturday. I have never peeled as badly as I am now. Although it doesn’t hurt, my skin is multicolored! It is a very strange look. So wear sun screen, and lots of it. Stupid ozone layer…
